Home -- Curve Balls

Sometimes life throws you curve balls..............

We all experience unexpected events in our lives; many pleasant, many not.

The loss of a loved one, a frightening diagnosis, a life-altering illness or injury, divorce, accident, layoffs, financial crisis, traumatic experiences ... these are only some of the ways that unexpected change in our lives can turn our worlds upside down.

When such events occur, the assumption of safety with which we go through our daily lives is shattered. We may experience shock, anxiety, grief, depression, or physical symptoms such as sleep or appetite disturbances.

Counseling and guidance may be reassuring that symptoms are not abnormal under the circumstances. It is helpful to receive direction and support when we don’t know where to turn or have difficulty making decisions. Proactive therapeutic care may prevent dysfunction and distress.

A psychologist can evaluate symptoms and refer for medical care when needed. Psychotherapeutic counseling will lighten the load and make a big difference in getting through the crisis and adjusting to a different future.
